Vintage Cars and Pin Up Style!

But have you ever wondered how the link between Pin Up fashion and vintage car shows came to be?
The history of pinup art is rooted in the 19th century but gained immense popularity during World War II when it became a prevalent form of morale-boosting imagery for soldiers, sailors, and aviators. The artwork typically featured glamorous and alluring women, often in seductive poses or attire, which served as a reminder of the comforts of home and the hope of returning to their loved ones after the war. Pinups adorned barracks, ships, submarines, and even military aircraft, becoming an integral part of the soldiers' daily lives.

Loving the gorgeous outfits and the fabulous hairstyles. I wish I could do victory rolls. The cars look great too! For anybody that’s visited Napier they have fabulous vintage cars that they drive onto the dock when a cruise ship arrives perfect for pin-up shots.

My father instilled a love for classic cars in me. From a young age he would take us for joys rides around the block in his convertible Triumph TR6. We still go to car shows from time to time together to admire the cars and he’s like a walking dictionary on the history of each one. He can often make the year, make and model of the car just by glancing at it!
