'By The Sea' - Featuring Peta Kitten!

I’m Peta! I am the manager of Kitten D'Amour QueensPlaza.

My Kitten passion far exceeds my stature. At 163cm (5”4’ in the old ways) I consider myself on the more petite or concentrated awesome side. I usually range between a size 8 – 10 in Kitten D’Amour clothing and an 8.5 in shoes.

My measurements are Bust – 96cm, Waist – 73cm and Hips – 94cm and I wear a C Cup bra if this helps you to play along.

My absolute shining star of the By the Sea collection is the Classic Sleeveless Dress (Red) and it was love at first sight! I found it true to size, (I’m wearing the size 8) with some stretch to the fabric and it is fully lined in By the Sea print satin. It is so comfortable to wear, and it accommodates a regular bra. The beautiful Raspberry colour compliments all skin tones...which my very pale complexion can sometimes struggle with! 

My love of a full skirt is enhanced with the beautiful Luxury Shirred Petticoat in Wine, and I have partnered her with the gorgeous Vixen Shoe in Burgundy. Like all classic beauties, the By the Sea Classic Dress can be more relaxed with a D’Amour Denim Jacket and a pair of flats such as the 'Vanity', or 'Foxtrot' Shoes for a more casual look. I love this design and am thrilled that it has a print option. Also, worth mentioning POCKETS!

Typically, a no-go zone for my stature, I was pleasantly surprised at the awesome fit and flattering silhouette of the By the Sea Belted Pantsuit. I found it true to size fitting into the 8 and the adjustable shoulder straps really helps to accommodate a longer torso.

Historically pantsuits are too long on me, but I was quite comfortable walking in high heeled shoes – I have my darling Vixens here with an 11cm heel to demonstrate. I have had the opportunity to wear this with a pair of flat Foxtrots also without too many issues. Ideally, I would hem them, and any excess fabric can me turned into a headband.

Made from 100% cotton the fabric is light and floaty and who doesn’t love a removeable belt! No pockets this time, which means a smooth finish over the hips. Being a one piece pantsuit, pockets in this style can 'bulge' a little.

For Kittens needing a bit of versatility in their life it is difficult to go past a lovely skirt/top ensemble. I have opted to combine the By the Sea Stripe Full Skirt with the By the Sea Top (red) due to my love of the colour. This combination makes me think of Ice Cream cones and seaside strolls with my dog.! The Skirt I found ran a little large so size down in this one. I am wearing the 6 but do not fear for those with a smaller waistline these pretties do come in a size 4. The fabric is so soft and is a beautiful weight for the warmer weather. The detail trim to the functioning pockets is just darling.

The By the Sea Top ran a little small so I have opted for a 10 this time due to the width of my back. Like the Classic dress this top is beautifully lined with By the Sea print satin and offers a comfortable bustier type feel and support and accommodates a regular bra while providing great coverage of my bustline. Accessorize this combination with Vixen petite Shoes in nude, Vixens in burgundy or Peek a Boo Green shoes and some lovely hair accessories such as the Ma Belle Fleur hair flowers and you will have a winning look!

 Finally, for those interested in something a little more formal I have introduced the By the Sea Top (Print) with the Vicious Kitten Tulle Skirt (Teal Green). The complimentary colours enhance this beautiful print.

I sized up to a 10 in the top while the Tulle skirt remained true to size in an 8. I thought this combination would be perfect for weddings, Spring Carnival, or High Tea. Complete your look with a D’Amour Petite Bow Belt in Cream adorned with a sparkling brooch and you will be the star of any event! I have partnered this with our shiny Foxtrot Flat shoes in gold. These shoes I found to be a bit tight around my toes in my usual size, so I did size up to a 9.

These shoes have not left my feet since purchasing them and the versatility of metallic shoes makes for an easy choice.
