Spotlight on Adrienne Kitten - aka Wren - of 'Vixens Of Fall' Fame!

At Kitten D'Amour, we absolutely love celebrating the incredible talents of our cherished staff members, and Adrienne Kitten is a shining star among us! Beloved by guests and colleagues alike, Adrienne's vibrant spirit and musical talents extend far beyond her exceptional work with Kitten D'Amour.

From their humble beginnings in Cairns to their electrifying performances on iconic stages like Tamworth and Gympie Muster, this trio have truly made their mark. In 2023, Vixens of Fall reached new heights with the release of their debut crowdfunded album, Magick in the Chaos, debuting at #1 on the iTunes country chart and #11 on the all-genres chart. Now they've just released their new song, 'Wild River', which you're sure to pop on to heavy rotation at first listen!

Today, we sit down with Adrienne to chat about her band, Vixens of Fall, a dynamic trio of sisters who are rocking the country music scene!

Vixens of Fall 2024

Kitten D'Amour: How did Vixens of Fall get started?
Adrienne: We grew up in Cairns, surrounded by the beauty of the outback and a family that adored country music. Our musical journey started young, and we blended our harmonies and songwriting skills to create a sound that's both authentic and innovative.

Kitten D'Amour: How would you describe your music?
Adrienne: Our music is a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation – we call it Boho Country Rock! Think whimsical Stevie Nicks, feisty Miranda Lambert, and the …ahem… ‘assets’ of Dolly Parton!

Kitten D'Amour: Can you tell us about your new song, "Wild River"?
Adrienne: We wrote "Wild River" with Max Jackson. It's about the magical innocence of childhood and realizing you need to add colour to your life as you grow up. It's about taking charge of your life and finding joy in the trials and tribulations.

Kitten D’Amour: Who are your musical influences?
Adrienne: Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles, Miranda Lambert, and Lainey Wilson. These legends have shaped our sound and continue to inspire us!

Kitten D’Amour: Do you prefer performing live or recording?
Adrienne: Nothing beats the feeling of performing live. Whether it's a packed crowd or an intimate setting, we know that's what we were born to do. But we also love the recording process – seeing the start, middle, and end is so fulfilling.

Kitten D’Amour: What should we expect from your upcoming shows?
Adrienne: Our shows take people on a journey of music, magic, and humour. Expect soulful harmonies, energetic dance moves, and a captivating band… we want everyone to feel uplifted and inspired!

Kitten D’Amour: What motivates you most when writing music?
Adrienne: We thrive on our experiences and stories. Creating something magical from a simple word or phrase is incredibly fulfilling. Our writing team bounces ideas off each other to create powerful moments.

Kitten D’Amour: Which music/artists are you currently listening to?
Adrienne: We're into Ashley McBride, Chris Stapleton, Jelly Roll, Tyler Childers, and Megan Moroney. Their resonating lyrics and country vibes are a roller coaster of emotions we love.

Kitten D’Amour: What inspired you to go into the music industry?
Adrienne: We've always loved singing and performing. It started with being our father's doo-wop girls at family BBQs. Our love for music has only grown, and turning this dream into reality is incredible.

The early days: 2015!

Kitten D’Amour: If you could collaborate with another artist, who would it be?
Adrienne: We can't choose just one! Chris Stapleton for a smooth, funky, Americana feel or Beccy Cole to write a country anthem for women.  It's important to support and uplift each other.

Kitten D’Amour: What is the biggest challenge you have faced in the music industry?
Adrienne: Balancing our Vixens lives and daytime lives. We're like the country Hannah Montana! Finding balance for everything, not just for one but for three of us, is a real challenge.

Kitten D’Amour: What's next for you?
Adrienne: We're excited to debut our music in the States. It's daunting but thrilling. We love that people in another country believe in us and our music. It's a fantastic opportunity to share our sound with a whole new audience and grow our community.

Adrienne's journey with Vixens of Fall is truly exciting! At Kitten D'Amour, we're incredibly proud of her achievements and can't wait to see what's next for this inspiring trio. Keep an eye on Vixens of Fall as they continue to blaze their trail in the boho country rock scene!
