Acting on your dreams can be daunting. The hardest part is that initial step forward, the choice to push past the doubts and the fears and the little voice in your head that says…’you aren’t good enough’….. But as Liebe (in the film ‘A Stitch in Time’) could tell you, the rewards which come from taking that first step are boundless.

Without spoiling the story of the film too much…over the course of the movie, Liebe rediscovers her love of dressmaking and while she doesn’t find approval in every place she may have hoped to… Liebe does, eventually find the love and support needed to fulfil her dreams in herself and from a select group the special people around her. 

Of course it always helps to have a few sprinklings of Kitten D’Amour’s unique style strategically placed throughout the movie to assist her…!

During the film, we see Liebe create many beautiful and familiar designs. A few clever Kittens may have recognised that some of these styles in the film have now become Kitten D’Amour classics. These fabulous garments inspired the director Sasha Hadden in his creation of ‘A Stitch in Time’, and our beautiful designs had the honour of being featuring on the big screen for the first time! As seen in a recent Facebook post, our wonderful designer….Alana, designer of all things Kitten, is even quoted in the scene where Liebe is talking about the beautiful Brocade fabric used to make one of the stunning designs in the film.

“It’s Jacquard Damask Brocade, which has a very long history which started in the Middle East and traded in Damascus… The only people to wear it were Kings and Queens.”

Kate Kitten's measurements: Bust: 115cm, Waist: 95cm, Hips: 115cm, Height: 165cm.

A Stitch In Time Dress: Kate was most looking forward to this Polka Dot pretty...she has been waiting since 'Girl Friday' was released over 5 years ago! Kate is comfortably in the size 16, she had concerns the button front might look strained with her larger bust, but was pleasantly surprised at the perfect fit! She notes the fabric is very soft and has just the right amount of give for a perfect fit!

A Stitch In Time Brocade Dress: The Red Brocade Dress is Kate's surprise must have...she mentioned in the past she has struggled with this style of cut and creating a smooth finish, but this Design is now her NEW favourite! Kate details that the Dress falls beautifully without a petticoat and has made a point to mention the Dress is lined to the waist only, so there is no bulk from where it falls. She says if you've ruled this cut out in the past due to hip bulk, you will not have this issue with this Design! Size 16 was a nice fit on the waist, but Kate ultimately decided on the 18 as she needed the bust room and felt more comfortable. 

D'Amour Belted Collar Dress With Pockets (Chocolate): The Collar Dress is one of Kate's go to Designs and she was so happy to have it arrive in a new colour! She mentioned the Belt was a very good fit and of course...POCKETS! The sleeve was very comfortable and not at all tight. Kate is wearing the size 16 in this Design...however if you fall between a 14 and 16 and have a smaller bust, Kate recommends the 14.

Courtney Kitten's measurements: Bust: 92cm, Waist: 72cm, Hips: 103cm, Height: 170cm.

A Stitch In Time Dress: Courtney found the fit of this Design to be very true to size, with a little bit of extra room for movement, as such a size 10 was a great fit! As a polka dot lover herself, Courtney was ecstatic to have another chance to add this beautiful Design to her Kitten collection. 

A Stitch In Time Brocade Dress: With a fair complexion this gorgeous Dress suited Courtney perfectly. With no stretch to the material Courtney found her usual size 10 was very snug. Courtney recommends Kittens size up in this Design for a more comfortable fit! 

D'Amour Belted Collar Dress With Pockets (Chocolate): A 'Classics' Kitten at heart, Courtney adored the new Chocolate version of this iconic Kitten Design. Finding the fit to be very true to size, Courtney found a size 10 to be her fit. Wearing 2 petticoats underneath for a gorgeous silhouette.

Mandie Kitten's Measurements: Bust: 98cm, Waist: 78cm, Hips: 106cm, Height: 168cm

A Stitch In Time Dress: Wearing her standard size 10 in this beautiful Design, Mandie loved a more Retro look pairing this Design with the stunning new 'Miss Ives Shoe (Black)' for a gorgeous combination. 

A Stitch In Time Brocade Dress: Finding this Design to be more on the snug side, Mandie wore a size 10, however, would certainly recommend Kittens with a bigger bust size up. Mandie noted that the wide neck line on this Design was her favourite feature, draping along the neckline beautifully.

D'Amour Belted Collar Dress With Pockets (Chocolate): A fan favourite of Mandie's, this gorgeous Collar Dress brought new life to a Kitten Classic in this beautiful new Chocolate colouring. Again, Mandie wore her standard size 10.

Sheldyn Kitten's Measurements: Bust: 86cm, Waist: 78cm, Hips: 113cm, Height: 174cm 

A Stitch In Time Dress: Loving her Designs to be extra voluminous with two Petticoats underneath, Sheldyn found sizing up to a size 12 in this Design to be a great fit!

A Stitch In Time Brocade Dress: Again noting that this Design was a snug fit, Sheldyn sized up to a size 12 in this Design as well for a comfortable fit. Sheldyn absolutely loved how this Design fell over her body.

D'Amour Belted Collar Dress With Pockets (Chocolate):  More comfortable in a size 10, Sheldyn just loved the new Chocolate colour in this Design. Finding the belt gave her the perfect hourglass shape!
